Why are reindeer Santa’s perfect flying companions? Or are they? This course looks at wild North American ungulates and compares reindeer, moose, deer, antelope, buffalo and elk. Using real data and photos from our wildlife biologists, this course compares animal strength, speed, endurance, energy and adaptive traits. Students will help calculate numbers and make comparisons to arrive at their own decision of who should pull Santa’s sleigh.
